Beyond June 2026, I don’t expect to be providing these one-to-one transition services on an ongoing basis, although local yoga classes will continue. I’m increasingly focusing on community and prevention work through organisations, while continuing to explore the ideas behind these pages. I’ll be keeping them here and may occasionally have capacity for reflective planning conversations. I’m also open to partnerships that could help make this type of service more widely available. You can read more in this article here and in this longer blog.
Moving through home transitions
Moving home can take up a lot of headspace and easily become overwhelming, particularly if you’ve lived in the same place for a long time or are going through a big life change. This service is for people who are considering moving, or already in the process, and want perspective, momentum and research-led input to help move things forward.
This isn’t a full moving or admin service. It’s light-touch, short-term input during a transition. My role is to support clear thinking and planning, offer perspective and carry out focused research, while also recognising the emotional side of moving home.
“I had a really positive experience with Tessa while exploring moving home: which areas might be a good fit, and what truly matters most to me. Tessa was knowledgeable, open, and honest, creating a supportive space that made the process feel clear and manageable. I felt genuinely heard and guided throughout, never pressured. I’d highly recommend her to anyone facing a similar decision.” (Mark)
What this service focuses on
This work focuses on planning change and maintaining momentum and perspective during a home move, rather than managing tasks or taking over decisions.
Input may include:
- Strategic reflection at key decision points
- Offering perspective during periods of uncertainty
- Area and property research to inform next steps
- Making sense of information from agents, sellers or solicitors
- Light updates and check-ins to maintain momentum.
You remain responsible for all decisions.
How it works
It’s helpful to start with an initial conversation to understand where you are and what would be most useful.
From there, support is usually offered over a short, defined period, often around 1.5 hours per week. This allows for continuity without becoming open-ended. We can agree what feels appropriate at the outset and review as things change.
Some people choose to alternate this service with reflective planning conversations. For example, a period of research-led input during an active stage of moving, followed by a more reflective session at a key decision point.
Sessions usually take place by phone or video call, with research shared by email or message. Some in-person time may be possible if you’re local.
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”
— Albert Einstein (1930)
If you’re unsure whether this is right for you, please get in touch to arrange an initial call. We can talk through what’s bringing you here, and you can also ask any questions you have and get a feel for whether working together would be helpful.
Experience
This service draws on experience across housing, planning and care-adjacent work:
- Co-founding a small residential property organisation recognised for its human service
- Strategic planning and consultancy work focused on place, housing and community wellbeing
- Working as a yoga teacher and supporting people’s health and wellbeing, as well as wider community health and prevention efforts.
The intention is to offer thoughtful support that makes a difference in small but meaningful ways, particularly at points where movement and perspective matter.
