From late February, weekly mindful yoga for wellbeing classes resume in Long Ditton and Molesey, offering small, steady, breath-led practices designed to support everyday wellbeing.
These mat-based sessions focus on strength, mobility, balance and rest, moving gently between effort and ease. They are calm and considered rather than fast or performative, with space to notice how your body feels and to move at a sustainable pace.
You don’t need to be flexible, experienced or sure of anything. Just curious enough to show up.
What the classes are like
Classes are mixed ability, with options offered throughout. Everyone is encouraged to work in a way that feels supportive and appropriate for their body, rather than pushing or forcing.
Sessions typically include:
- Mindful, breath-led movement
- Gentle strength and balance work
- Mobility for joints and spine
- Time to slow down and release tension
- Steady sun salutations and moon salutations (adaptions given)
- A guided relaxation at the beginning and end.
Each week explores a different aspect of wellbeing, using simple themes to support awareness of body, breath and mind. Some classes take light inspiration from holistic frameworks such as the chakra system but no prior knowledge is needed. The emphasis is always on how you feel, alongside mindful movement that supports safe, steady posture.

Who these classes are for
These sessions may suit you if you:
- Are new to yoga, returning after time away, or already practise and want a steady, mindful, breath-led approach
- Want something supportive, grounding and well-paced
- Have osteoporosis or low bone density (first options only, not the deeper expressions)
- Are managing stress, fatigue or periods of change
- Want to move and rest in ways that support long-term wellbeing.
I can also deliver chair-based mindful yoga in community or organisational settings. If that’s something you’d be interested in, please get in touch.
A calm approach
I teach Hatha yoga, a slower style that allows time to settle, breathe and build awareness. Poses are held for a few breaths to support stability and ease, with some yin and restorative elements to encourage softness and release.
My approach is shaped by both professional training and personal experience, including recovery from a spinal fracture. This is why choice, clarity and listening to the body are central to sessions.
“Absolutely amazing yoga classes. Tessa has a calming and relaxing voice, helping you to feel at home and in touch with your mind and body.”
