Home and life transitions: what I do and why partnership matters

Bright living room leading on to patio

I work with people through home and life transitions. I provide guidance focused on practical and strategic considerations, aligned with people’s values, run reflection and planning sessions, and offer home-finding and moving support.

This can include helping clarify priorties and options, exploring areas, carrying out research, shortlisting and appraising properties, scheduling viewings, and liaising with third parties. I can also support with aspects of settling in.

I usually work with up to four people a day. This allows me to give each person considered follow-up, summaries, and action notes to support clear, confident decision-making. I can meet in person if local or by video or phone call, and may attend viewings depending on the situation.

My approach is strategic and facilitative, helping people navigate change and move forward.

What I’m not

To be clear about my role and boundaries, here’s what I’m not:

  • I’m not a lifestyle brand.
  • I’m not a personal assistant, professional organiser, or declutterer.
  • I’m not a regulated property buyer who works with investors or on commission, or makes decisions on behalf of the client.
  • I’m not a life coach offering open-ended coaching programmes.
  • I’m not a therapist or counsellor providing clinical support.
  • I’m not a relocation professional managing staff moves for companies.

Why professional guidance matters

Family support is often vital, offering emotional connection, continuity, and practical hands-on help such as decluttering or sorting belongings. Professional guidance provides impartiality, structure and facilitation, helping people clarify options, make decisions aligned with their values, and feel in control. This combination strengthens confidence and supports steady, sustainable change.

The value of partnership working

Partnership working is central to making this support accessible. Collaborating with community organisations, legal and financial professionals, property advisers, and wellbeing practitioners ensures people receive the right guidance at the right time.

If you’re a professional who supports people through change, or know someone who could benefit from working with me during a home or life transition, I’d love to connect. And if you’re navigating a transition yourself, please do get in touch.
