Reflecting on change: support with moving home and life transitions

A calm home. Tessa Spring: working with you to keep moving through life shifts

Moving home is often described as one of life’s most stressful experiences. Yet it’s rarely only about the practicalities of finding somewhere new. More often, it reflects a bigger transition: a career change, a shift in family life, or a reassessment of what matters most. At the same time, choosing to stay put can bring its own questions. Does your current home still support your wellbeing, or has it become a compromise that no longer feels right?

The reality is that many people face these decisions without much support. The latest figures show that single-person households are at a record high, meaning more people than ever are making big life and home choices on their own. Even in couples or families, it can feel hard to balance different priorities while managing the stress of everyday life. That is why professional coaching, relocation guidance and home moving support can make such a difference.

A chance to reflect and clarify

To help people at this crossroads, I’m available for an initial, no-obligation chat. 45-minutes to reflect, clarify what matters most, and create a plan for your next steps.

You may be thinking about moving home, weighing up options for later life, or simply feeling the need for a new chapter. Whatever your situation, the conversation provides a calm and supportive environment to explore what feels right for you.

My background

My own path has shaped the way I work now. After my daughter was born in 2021, I developed a spinal compression fracture due to a rare pregnancy condition. The recovery brought with it an unexpected shift in how I live and work. I trained in coaching and yoga, building on my earlier career in strategic planning and residential property.

I’ve spent years working with local and regional government, advising on housing and community services, and I also co-founded a small estate agency committed to improving standards. Alongside this, I’ve written as a journalist and researcher on themes of health, culture and place. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how homes, communities and wellbeing are interconnected.

The service is also inspired by my step-mum Carol, who died in May last year aged 78. She had long thought about moving, but the right support didn’t come in time. She had osteoporosis, and after a fall, went into care. Her story strengthens my belief that timely, compassionate and professional guidance can make a real difference.

This is what I now bring to clients: coaching-informed reflection and planning conversations, and, when needed, home-finding and moving support and guidance. It’s an independent service, focused on your wellbeing as much as your practical outcome.

Coaching through a wellbeing lens

The difference is not just in what I offer, but how I offer it. A home move is never just a logistical process. It can touch identity, relationships, health and future hopes. Looking through a wellbeing lens means your choices are not simply about square footage or postcode, but about the life you want to create.

This support is not only for those planning a house move. I also work with people navigating wider life transitions such as becoming a parent, considering a career change, or adjusting to later life.

A first-time buyer might want support with the stress of the process. Someone moving in later life may want help weighing up whether to downsize or adapt their current home. People living alone often value having a trusted professional walking alongside them, offering both clarity and moral support. For couples and families, I can help ease the decision-making pressure, offering an independent perspective that keeps wellbeing and long-term happiness at the centre.
